How Eurodesk can assist you
Eurodesk is a unique information network. We work in partnership with our national, regional and local offices throughout Europe to ensure you are provided with accurate, up-to-date and localised information.
Here is an example of how we work: Would you like to meet fellow youth workers from across Europe and share experiences on topics such as Active Citizenship and Intercultural Dialogue? We can find out if there are any European training courses available and if you are eligible for any funding.

Eurodesk and Youth in Action
Eurodesk is a permanent support structure for European youth work as part of the Youth in Action programme. Both Eurodesk and Youth in Action are funded by the European Commission to help inspire a sense of active European citizenship as well as solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans.
Youth in Action offers a variety of activities to young people, such as volunteering, youth seminars, youth exchanges and youth initiatives. It also provides many opportunities to those working with young people, such as study visits, training and job shadowing.
For more information on the Youth in Action programme please visit the Youth in Action website.
Eurodesk and SALTO-YOUTH
Eurodesk UK has developed a close partnership with SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres. SALTO-YOUTH stands for Support, Advanced Learning and Training Opportunities within the European YOUTH programme.
SALTO-YOUTH.net is a network of 8 Resource Centres working on European priority areas within the youth field. It provides youth work and training resources and organises training and contact-making activities to support organisations and National Agencies within the frame of the European Commission's Youth in Action programme and beyond. SALTO-YOUTH's history started in 2000 and is part of the European Commission’s Training Strategy within the Youth in Action programme and works in synergy and complimentarity with other partners in the field. To find out more visit the SALTO-YOUTH website.
All SALTO Resource Centres organise training courses or contact making seminars, which you can find listed in SALTO's Training Calendar. The Training Calendar mentions clearly the target group, participation conditions and application procedure for each activity. If you are recruiting participants for international youth (work) training activities you can promote your training activity via the Training Calendar too.
SALTO also develops, collects and disseminates Youth (work) Training Resources, which can be useful in the field of (international) youth work and training. Get your inspiration in the Toolbox for Training. Training Resources can be concrete methods and simulation games, but also PowerPoint presentations and background texts. Of course you can also share your training tools with other youth workers and trainers if they fulfil the quality criteria.
SALTO, in its organisation of Training Courses works together with experienced trainers from all over Europe. They have set up an online database for youth trainers where you can find a youth (work) trainer for your training needs. If you are or know a youth (work) trainer who has implemented at least three international youth training courses (non-formal, residential, intercultural group dynamics), feel free to register on the SALTO trainers database.
Transversal Study Visits
Transversal is a strand of the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme. It gives UK learning professionals the chance to exchange expertise with their European colleagues. Transversal programme funding supports education and training organisations in the areas of policy, languages, ICT and dissemination. If you’re a learning professional involved in the design or delivery of education or vocational training, you could benefit from a Transversal Study Visit in another European country. People from all areas of education and training can take part. This includes those working in Government, local authorities, schools, colleges, adult education organisations, trade unions, companies, sectoral organisations, the voluntary sector and non-governmental organisations.
