WHAT IS VOLUNTEERS’ WEEK?
Volunteers’ Week is about celebrating and thanking those who give their time to make a difference. It takes place 1-7 June every year and is an opportunity to acknowledge the value and diversity of volunteering. Whether you are part of a voluntary organisation or a volunteer yourself, here's how to make your week as great as possible.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED AND MAKE THE MOST OF THE WEEK
During the week, events and celebrations take place across the UK. Last year there were over 650, and the calendar for 2019 is filling up fast, from an arts open day in Birmingham to an awards ceremony and lunch in Glasgow.
Here’s how you can be part of it:
Attend an event in your local area, or organise one
Make noise on social media
Become a volunteer
Want to volunteer? Volunteers’ Week is a great time to find out more.
There are all kinds of volunteering roles out there, contributing to many different causes. Volunteers’ Week is an ideal opportunity to chat to organisations you’re interested in.
There are loads of open days, recruitment fairs and taster sessions. The perfect time to give something a go!
