Young Leaders Programme

In the framework of the European Development Days (EDD), the European Commission is inviting young people from around the world to join the Young Leaders Programme and play an active role in this year’s EDD.
About the call
Young leaders from across the world, with proven commitment and community engagement, promoting environmental issues and biodiversity preservation and fighting against climate change are invited to apply to be part of the European Development Days, taking place in Brussels, Belgium. Travel and accommodation will be covered by the European Commission. The Young Leaders Programme will consist of a 10-day visit to Brussels, where Young Leaders will meet EU experts, stakeholders and play a leading role in the EDD Programme, which will include speaking in various session alongside global leaders.
How to apply
Applicants will have to show leadership and knowledge in one of the EDD 2020 topics, demonstrate expertise in their chosen field, and explain how they will represent young people at the forum.
Who can apply
Young people from 21 to 26 years of age from all around the world, who can represent the powerful impact that youth are having in the sustainable development field.
Seventeen young people from across the world will be selected by the EDD Team and session organisers. The selection will be based on their expertise and leadership in one of the EDD topics. All details about the programme are available in the EDD application form.
EDD 2020 will focus on: "The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future”. This year's topics are:
- A Green Economy for Nature and People
- Protecting Biodiversity and People
